Our Story

Believe it or not, Our story Began in 2012…

In 2012, a few people gathered in a living room and asked God to write a new story. They began to imagine a church that would not just gather on Sunday mornings, but would scatter as the Church throughout the week. A church that would exist to multiply disciples and churches to carry the good news of the Gospel to every neighborhood and network of their city.

God did immeasurably more than those men and women on their knees in a living room could have ever asked or imagined, and the Citylight movement was born.

A large group of people, predominantly teenagers, standing close together with some praying or holding hands, inside a spacious room with a high wooden ceiling and visible metal beams.

You’ve been prayed for.

Before anything happens, prayer occurs. We are committed to being a prayer movement before we are a church planting movement. We pray for laborers, provision, vision, and leading. We don’t want to simply try and execute a good plan. We want to continually hear from the Spirit of God and join in His redemptive work!

From There…

One by one our leadership team started to put their “yes” on the table, and the Core Team began to pray, train and gather.

People gathered in a gymnasium worshiping, with a screen displaying lyrics in the background.

WE CONTINUE TO SEE GOD’S HAND AT WORK IN AND THROUGH KEARNEY, AND WE CAN’T WAIT TO SEE WHAT GOD HAS IN STORE FOR US iN THE YEARS TO COME!

a huge way we’ve seen the Lord’s provision is in gathering spaces!

We are incredibly blessed to have The Hub as our gathering space. It is currently undergoing construction, and we can’t wait to finally gather here in this space!

Large indoor gathering in an industrial space with a stage and musical instruments set up at the front. People are seated in audience chairs facing the stage, while some individuals stand in the foreground and along the sides.

IN THE MEANTIME…

Group of people gathered in a gymnasium, standing around and facing a stage or screen at the front, with some seated at round tables, during what appears to be a community or church event.

Schrock Medical Clinic has graciously allowed us to gather while we are in the Core Team Training. Since construction is still going on, we will continue to meet at Schrock until The Hub is ready for us!
